Ede Pride: Celebrating Diversity and Acceptance

The inaugural Ede Pride, held on September 23-25, 2022, was a significant milestone for the town of Ede, aiming to promote diversity and acceptance within the community. A core group of enthusiastic individuals, along with the support of culture podium Astrant, Malkander, and numerous volunteers, worked tirelessly to develop a varied program for the event. Their mission was clear: to show the queer community that it is okay to be oneself and to demonstrate that Ede, as a municipality, has long since moved beyond prejudice.

Following the success of the first edition, the second Ede Pride took place on June 30 and July 1-2, 2023. Both editions were marked by a weekend full of activities organized by the local LGBTQIA+ community for the residents of Ede. These events highlighted the town's commitment to diversity and inclusion, and efforts to firmly establish Ede as a rainbow municipality were evident.

Looking ahead, Ede Pride is set to return on May 24-26, 2024, with even more activities and celebrations planned to support and embrace the queer community. This event continues to be a beacon of acceptance and pride for the town, reflecting the dedication and hard work of its organizers and participants.
