Film: Cloudburst (2011) - All Inclusive

Dot and Stella are a remarkable lesbian couple. They have been together for 31 years and have supported each other through thick and thin. Now in their seventies, Stella is hard of hearing, and Dot is practically blind. Dot's prudish granddaughter, Molly, decides that the best place for Dot is a nursing home that will provide all the necessary care. This forces Stella and Dot to make a bold decision: they will leave their home and head to Canada, where same-sex marriage is legal. Along the way, they pick up a young hitchhiker named Prentice.

Dot en Stella zijn een opmerkelijk lesbisch koppel. Zij zijn al 31 jaar samen en zijn er voor elkaar geweest in voor- en tegenspoed. Nu zijn ze in de zeventig en Stella is hardhorend en Dot is praktisch blind. Dotts preutse kleindochter, Molly, beslist dat de beste plek voor Dot een verpleeghuis is dat in alle benodigdheden zal voorzien. Dit dwingt Stella en Dot om een gedurfde beslissing te nemen: zij zullen hun woonplaats verlaten en op weg gaan naar Canada, waar het homohuwelijk legaal is. Onderweg nemen een jonge lifter mee, Prentice.
