Film: Jennifer’s Body (2009)
In Jennifer’s Body (2009), Jennifer, a popular high school cheerleader, is possessed by a demon after a botched sacrifice by a rock band seeking fame. As a result, she develops a hunger for human flesh and begins killing boys in her small town. Her best friend, Needy, uncovers Jennifer’s deadly transformation and ultimately must confront and stop her. Jennifer’s Body is considered a queer cult classic because of the intense, underlying fruity tension between Jennifer and Needy, particularly evident in their emotionally charged relationship and their brief kiss.
Griffica
Before the screening, we’ll be showing the short film Griffica. Written and directed by C.J. Arellano, this clever horror short delves into a psychological clash between two gay men from very different backgrounds. The story follows one man who begins to suspect that his coffee-loving boyfriend might actually be a demon in disguise.
