Letters Exchange & Booklaunch The Magical Book of A True Story

71BODIES, the company of choreographer Daniel Mariblanca, presents the performance A True Story at the Theaterfestival Boulevard.

The performance focuses on transgender youth, transgender parenthood, and family relationships. The exchange of letters was an important method used for the creation of A True Story. The letters were written by the transgender individuals and their family members. During the Feminist School at Boulevard, this correspondence will continue, and Daniel will launch his new book, The Magical Book of a True Story. This book takes you on a journey through self-discovery, societal acceptance, and the beauty of living as transgender.

Daniel's wish is to shine a light with The Magical Book of A True Story on family compositions that are not represented, and to create a perspective on a more inclusive and diverse way of living that falls outside the heteronormative cis-gender society.

Everyone experiences changes, in various forms. A change of job, home, partner, or belief. A family often seems like a fixed entity, a monument. Changes in the family can be beautiful or challenging. In this Feminist School, Daniel Mariblanca and What You See Festival invite you to write a letter to your family about changes that have tested your family ties. Write a letter (it doesn't matter if you send it or not) and explore the boundaries of beauty and family relationships.
