Trans Pride Walk

Join We Are Queer for this year’s Trans Pride Walk for Pride Oost!

Trans lives and rights have been under significant pressure in the Netherlands and worldwide, especially this past year. Acceptance of trans and non-binary people is decreasing, leading to higher suicide rates, loneliness, and stress (Gezondheidsmonitor, 2023). Transgender Netwerk also reports an increase in discrimination, making trans people feel less safe on the streets. Therefore it's crucial for us to go out and let our voices be heard. Because pride will always be a protest and trans people are here and will always be here!

Gather at the Muziekkoepel in Oosterpark on the 31st of July. Here we will listen to some amazing speakers talk about the importance of the trans community. Afterwards, we will proudly wave our flags as we walk from the Muziekkoepel to Javaplein where Pride Oost. Alle Kleuren Oost en Trans Amsterdam will have turned Javaplein into a queer square full of music, food and amazing vibes!

Route:From the Music Dome in Oosterpark we walk along Eerste van Swindenstraat and Javastraat to Javaplein (see attachment for map).
