👁️ SAFETY CONFERENCE: 'Sexual Abuse in the Queer Community' 👁️

Studies show that members of the queer community face sexual violence at higher rates than others. Why is this, and what can be done? Amsterdam should remain a city where queers feel safe to explore sexual freedom and expression—making it essential to address all forms of sexual violence and boundary-crossing behaviors.

This event is part of a series of safety conferences organized by the @queer.365 alliance during Winter Pride Amsterdam. The evening will focus on discussions and solutions around this pressing issue.

Key questions include:

• How do we handle consent in spaces of sexual freedom?
• Why are queer youth more vulnerable to abuse?
• How can reporting mechanisms be improved for queers facing sexual abuse?
• What protections are needed for queer refugees in Amsterdam?
• Why is sexual abuse in the lesbian scene so rarely discussed?

Speakers include Levi Jacobs (Sexual Abused Artists Collective), Ira Kip, Mani Nezami, Michael O'dea (Menaswell), Anne Rodermond (Club Church), with a performance by Didi Kruike. The evening is hosted by Jan Hoek and Valentijn Hoogenkamp.
